Winery "Magarach" is located on the southern coast of Crimea. This plant is the cradle of Russian science about grapes and drinks from it. Nearly two centuries in this plant are studying the mystery of wine.

In the early 19th century on the orders of Prince MS Vorontsov was created by "bureaucratic institution experienced" in the Nikitsky botanical garden. This institution was to plant the best vines and to conduct experiments for the production of different wines. Prince Vorontsov was a big fan of wine and strongly contributed to its development. In 1852 in the tract Magarach (translated means "the source") was built winery. The first scientist winemakers at this plant were Franz Gasquet and Anastasius Serbulenco with the participation of the director of the Nikitsky garden Nicholas Gartvis. He was given first priority: "Produce a healthy wine, which can be stored for a long time, not trying to do the similarity of taste or composition of the bouquet of any already known foreign wines."

Soon, specialists in the study of viticulture and wine from it, make sure the grapes are grown on the southern coast, it is ideal for the manufacture of both strong and dessert wines. In order to better understand and secure the results obtained, the wine left in the cellar for long-term storage. So a collection of plant "Magarach". So far, the plant has enoteca wine that was made in 1836 - the Muscat pink. For the production of wine grapes went to harvest this year. This wine is the oldest Russian wine listed in the "Guinness Book of Records."

Plant "Magarach" to work hard to win places on the large Russian market, which was full of many well-known foreign wines. The merchants who bought precious nutmeg plant "Magarach", without hesitation, diluted with water, giving a French Sauternes. They did it to get more profits, as has long been famous French wines. In order to avoid such falsifications, wine factory "Magarach" started pouring in branded bottles glued company label.

Wines of the factory received international recognition a few years later - in 1873. It was in Vienna at the World Exhibition. It was marked by a delicate flavor, unmatched flavor and bouquet of taste that has no single wine made in other countries.

The winemakers of the plant released a very well-known in our time domestic brands nutmeg, port, sherry, Madeira and beautiful Crimean a variety of other classic brands of wines.

Currently, the Institute "Magarach" is a modern scientific center and winery, equipped with modern equipment. It produces excellent dessert and no less wonderful strong wines of the same quality as in past centuries.
