Sultan Mosque Suryansiah - is the oldest mosque in the province of South Kalimantan. This province is located on the eponymous island of Kalimantan. It is worth noting the fact that this island - the third largest in the world. In addition, the island of Borneo is the only maritime island, which is divided among three countries: Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia. Most of the island - Indonesian, on which the four provinces of West Kalimantan, East, South and Central.

South Kalimantan Province, is located in the ancient mosque of Sultan Suryansiah consists of 11 districts and two urban municipalities. The exact location of the mosque - Queen Utara Village, which is located in Banjarmasin, the largest city and the administrative center of the province of South Kalimantan.

The mosque was built over 400 years ago, during the reign of Sultan Suryansiaha (1526-1550), the first king of Banjarmasin, who converted to Islam. 500 meters from the mosque is the tomb of Sultan Suryansiaha. The mosque is located near the place where the palace complex, Kampung Kraton, which, unfortunately, was killed when Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch. The mosque was built in the national bandzharskom architectural style, which has the following feature: the mihrab (a niche in the center of the mosque) has a roof and is separate from the main building. At the beginning of the XVIII century in the mosque were carried out reconstruction work. Inside the mosque dazzling ornament endless patterns and Arabic calligraphy.
