Warsaw History Museum - History Museum, located in eleven houses in the Old Town of Warsaw. The museum tells the history of Warsaw from its inception to the present day. Originally created as the Old Museum of Warsaw in 1936 - Museum is a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw. It is located in three buildings of the Old Town, acquired for this purpose by the city council.

Start of the Second World War interrupted the formation of the museum's collection. In 1941 he was arrested by the curator of the museum, which almost immediately died in Auschwitz. Museum with a collection was destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising. After the war, the decision of the Municipal Council, the museum was opened under its current name in eleven buildings of the old town.

In 1955, the museum visitors can see a permanent exhibition about the history of the capital. It was the first such large-scale exhibition devoted to the history of the city. In January 1965, it opened the next exhibition entitled "The Seven ages of Warsaw." In subsequent years, some parts have been upgraded.

The collection gradually grew through purchases at auctions, donations and gifts. Currently, the museum contains more than 250,000 objects. Here you can see paintings, drawings, sculptures, decorative art, coins, archaeological, architectural drawings.

The Museum organizes lessons and contests for students to be involved in all important cultural events in Warsaw.
