Casa dei Tre eyes, also known as the Casa di Maria - a palace in Venice, located in the Dorsoduro quarter on the island of Giudecca. The facade of the Palazzo overlooks the Canale della Giudecca.
Casa dei Tre Eyes was built in 1912-13 th years by the artist from the Emilia-Romagna region of Mario De Maria, who transformed the building into its Venetian refuge. In this palace after the death of De Maria stayed and lived many persons associated with the world of art, such as a modern architect Renzo Piano, who works in high-tech style. In 1970 the director Enrico Maria Salerno filmed several scenes of his film "Venice stranger" next to the Casa dei Tre eyes. Today the building is owned by the association which organizes cultural events dedicated to the art of the 20th century. In the palace preserved the original furniture of the last century, and numerous photographs and art materials related to the life and history of the De Maria Casa dei Tre eyes.
Being a model of neo-Gothic architecture of the early 20th century, Casa dei Tre eyes is a blend of several architectural trends - from a traditional Venetian house, to the warehouse structure in the style of avant-garde. The building consists of three floors, but deserves special attention so-called "piano nobile" - floor with three huge picture windows lancet "eyes", overlooking the Canal della Giudecca and Bacino di San Marco. In the center of the second floor you can see another picture window - bifory - framed by neo-gothic decorations.
