The huge Baroque church of St. Charles was built in the XVIII century by Emperor Charles VI in gratitude for deliverance from plague. The church was consecrated in honor of St. Charles Borromeo, patron and protector of the plague. Giant neoclassical dome and portico framed by two towers, resembling minarets and arches in the oriental style. The relief of the pediment is about suffering the citizens of Vienna during the plague epidemic.

Inside, the most striking beautiful dome frescoes, the main and side altars painted by the most famous artists of the time - Martino Altomonte, Daniel Gran and Sebastian Ricci.
