Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) - Austrian composer, a representative of the classical Viennese school. It was at the origin of the symphony and string quartet. He is the author of music, which was the basis for the national anthem of Germany.

The museum was opened in the home of the composer in 1889. Among the exhibits are musical notations, portraits, piano and some personal belongings. In the museum there is a small hall Brahms, who in life was a great admirer of Joseph Haydn. In this room are gathered personal belongings, furniture and clavichord. Also, you can see the documents that give an idea of ​​the last years of Brahms in Vienna.

In 2009, the museum held a large-scale reorganization of Haydn. In honor of the 200th anniversary of the death of the composer it was recreated "kitchen garden", which existed during the life of Haydn.
