Graben - the pedestrian zone in the heart of Vienna, the district's most fashionable shops and boutiques, restaurants and cafes, antique and second-hand shops.

In the center of the square stands the baroque Plague Column, also known as Trinity column. It was built on the orders of Emperor Leopold I after years of plague in the late XVII century. At the top of the column are statues of praying the Holy. Trinity emperor.

There are two buildings, built by the famous architect Otto Wagner - early works of classic Viennese Art Nouveau: house insurance company Anker and pompous house Graben-Hof. Nearby is the Jewish Museum and the auction house Dorotheum.

Near the cathedral of St. Stephen 1985-1990 the house was built Haas. This house, designed in Art Nouveau glass and aluminum - one of the most controversial buildings downtown.
