Natural Science Museum in the village of Cherni Osam was founded in 1976 Cherni Osam - a village in the north of Bulgaria is situated on 175 km southeast of Sofia.

Ilia Iliev, a village teacher of biology, along with the students began collecting species of flora and fauna in 1965. At lessons Iliev with students dissected the different animals that live in the mountain Stara Planina. Over time, the biologist collection, which was exhibited in the school grew, and in 1976 it moved to a new location. And in early 1977 it formed a branch of the museum History of the town of Lovech, which received the status of the museum and has earned as an independent museum only in 1992.

Since Cherni Osam is located in the "Central Balkan" (National Park), the Museum presented an exhibition of pictures of natural attractions of the area.
