Ethnographic Center All-Russian Historical and Ethnographic Museum is housed in a merchant's manor, which is an architectural monument of the 19th century. The ethnographic center can be found at the following exhibitions: "The Link of Times", "Rus living and legendary", "Not drinking sake ...".

"Russia and the legendary live" - ​​ethnographic exhibition devoted to the life and way of life, traditions and culture of the Russian people .  Here you can learn about the traditions and customs that accompanied the birth of a new life, how to conduct childhood and adolescent years, our ancestors - what games were played as learned the basics of peasant life, how was to acquaint young people as matchmaker bride as celebrate weddings .  The visitors of the exhibition can see firsthand the peasant home and learn how to choose the place for building a house .  The guide will tell about the internal and external decoration of the Russian log hut, about where the hut is located in the red corner, what a woman's kut house where he lives, and how in the old days moved to a new home .  The exhibit also tells of the lessons of our ancestors, of those saints, through which they asked for when entering the plowing, sowing or harvest, as well as kicking out in the cattle .  In the museum you can also get acquainted with the old Russian peasant clothes, their tools and utensils for cooking, plunge into the world of images of traditional Russian folklore - mermaids, devils, water, Bannikov, ovinnik etc. . d .

The exhibition "Not drinking sake ..." tells the story of the emergence of intoxicating beverages in Russia and their role in family ceremonies and rituals. Visitors will learn how the drink was called in the 18th centuries, vodka nachale19 what appetizer served with each drink, and visit the renovated tavern. There is also talk about the history of the emergence of pubs, about what "glory" of the population, and they enjoyed about the rules of their visit.

The exhibition, entitled "The Link of Times" presents the visitor patterns Novotorzhsky gold embroidery and weaving, which were created by ancient technology with modern designs.

The center operates Ethnographic art workshop "Source", the purpose of its activity is the revival of folk art, and the communion of the population to the Russian cultural traditions. The studio holds regular workshops where visitors can try the art of gold embroidery, trying to sew some artistic segment. Museum guests can try their own hands to make a scarf, homespun rug belt on an old loom or weaving berdyshke panels of fragrant herbs.
