Iligan City, located in the north of the province of Lanao del Norte in Mindanao, was once the capital of the province. According to the 2007 census, it is home to about 318,000 people.

Another attraction are the sources of Iligan timogena, known for its icy and crystal clear water, which fills several water reservoirs.
