Iligan City, located in the north of the province of Lanao del Norte in Mindanao, was once the capital of the province. According to the 2007 census, it is home to about 318,000 people.

The most famous is Maria Cristina Falls, sometimes called "twin waterfalls" as at the edge of the cliff is a huge boulder waterfall divides into two streams. Maria Cristina height - 98 meters.

Another famous waterfall - Tinago located near Buruun .  This is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in the vicinity of Iligan - streams of water from a height of 73 meters descend into a deep emerald lagoon .  Behind the waterfall is hidden a small cave in which you can listen to the roar of falling water .  And on the shores of Tinago spread exuberant rainforest .  On the origin of the waterfall is composed of a beautiful legend once lived in these places Agok influential Sultan with his wife .  People chose their own rulers, but they became arrogant and oppress the people .  When his wife was pregnant with the sultan, one witch in disguise as a beggar, asked for help Agok, but he refused and drove her from the yard .  Then the witch cursed the couple and said that their baby will be ugly .  And so it happened - when the baby was born, they were all amazed at her ugly appearance .  Agok and his wife hid the baby in a cave and called her Ting-ai, which means "hidden face" .  When she grew up, she came out of her hiding place and met with the very witch - Sorceress offered to return the girl beauty .  She agreed and turned into Tinago Falls .

These reservoirs are very popular among residents of the city, because they so well refresh yourself during the summer heat. They are located along the main road at a distance of 500 meters to 1 kilometer from the district Buruun. On the same highway you can reach the beach beech - one of the most beautiful within Iligan.
