Excellent Myrtos Beach - one of the best beaches in Greece. He is considered the "pearl" of the picturesque island of Kefalonia and is the owner of "blue flag of UNESCO." Mirtos is also recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Myrtos Beach is located 30 km north from the island's capital Argostoli, in a picturesque setting at the foot of two mountains Agia ordinates (1131 m) and Kelon Oros (901 m). The beach has a crescent shape and is surrounded by magnificent white cliffs. Hallmark Myrtos are unusually pure azure-blue waters and a unique white pebbles. This is one of the most photographed places in Greece.

The natural shade on the beach, but you can rent a sun umbrella to hide from the scorching sun rays (you can also rent a beach chair and). On the beach there is a small snack bar. When it's windy enough to go up strong waves and at rest with children, be aware that when entering the water fast enough depth begins. At the far end of the beach (on the left as you face the water) is a beautiful small grotto. Myrtos Beach is also an ideal place to enjoy one of the most spectacular sunsets of the Ionian Sea.

By the beach is quite a winding road (about 3 kilometers) from the small village Divarata. In order to fully enjoy the stunning panoramic views, is worth a visit special viewing platforms that offer a truly delightful sight.

Its rightful place took a stunning beach and world cinema. It is here that some of the scenes were filmed the famous drama director John Madden's "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" (in the original "Captain Corelli's Mandolin").
