A small resort village of Assos - one of the most picturesque and charming places on the island of Kefalonia. The village is located on the west coast, about 36 km from the capital of Argostoli, on a narrow isthmus, which is part of a small peninsula of the same name.
The pump is very small town, and the number of its population is barely 100 people. Nevertheless, hospitality of local people, traditional Greek architecture, narrow streets and mountainous terrain covered with pine trees and cypresses are attracting fans of quiet rest. Cozy cafes and taverns are located mainly on the city's waterfront and main street Asosa.
The main historical attraction Asosa is a Venetian castle, located on a steep rocky headland. The once majestic fortification was built in the late 16th century. Its location was chosen because the impregnable natural rock was of great strategic importance, giving protection and a good overview of water expanses. Unfortunately, up to now only well preserved massive castle walls and buildings inside the fort are in poor condition. The main gate of the castle is a pretty good way through which you can reach by car or on foot. From the top of the castle offers stunning panoramic views of the bay and surrounding area.
Not far from Asosa is "the pearl of Kefalonia" - Myrtos Beach, which is the owner of the so-called "Blue Flag of UNESCO".
The pump - a perfect place for an unforgettable vacation. Warm gentle sun, the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea and the stunning scenic landscapes of these places create a special atmosphere of comfort and coziness. You will definitely want to come back again.
