Regional Museum of Teplice is located in the historic interiors of the local baroque castle, which was built in the XVI century on the site of the destroyed Hussites female abbey founded by Queen Judith. From this monastery, and began construction of greenhouses. Therefore, local historians believe that Teplice collection of the museum building, considered the heart of the city.

Some of the museum tour includes visits to the master's chambers, a beautiful courtyard and the remains of the chapel, which includes perfectly preserved ancient dungeon. Himself castle complex consists of five wings and contains a rich collection of objects found by archaeologists during work on the territory of the local castle. Most of the remains date back to the XII century - the time of foundation of the monastery of the Benedictine Order. Teplice pride of the museum are portraits of the highest Petersburg society. They were brought here Russian wife of Count S. L. Fikelmon, whose daughter was married to the owner of the castle Teplice - count Clary-Aldringen. About this collection of paintings is legendary.
