St. George's Church - one of the attractions of the city of Taganrog. The temple in honor of St. George Street Old-Mail (Dzerzhinsky Street) was opened in May 1943 at the request of residents and workers of metallurgical factory. The temple was designed for parishioners who lived in Skaramangovke, Kasperovke and Novoselovka. It is housed in a small building of the store that did not suit either the parish church or clergy. In 1945, the nearby ancient stone barn has been converted into a church, which was consecrated bishop Joseph (roughing).

After the war and until 1986, the church remained in the shadows, life goes unnoticed and quietly as rector of the church was not appointed Archpriest Ariane Pniewski. Through his initiative, it started construction of a new temple. As a result, the old barn was dismantled and the material used for the construction of the future church. With the direct participation of the rector of the church, who was also the manager of the works, the builder and the procurement officer, construction was carried out purposefully. Due to the serious illness of his father Ariane could not conduct services, so in June 2008, the new rector of St. George's Church was appointed Archpriest Alexei Lysikova. In May 2013 the church celebrated its 70th anniversary. In September 2013 it was announced about the beginning of reconstruction of the church, during which it is planned to combine the building of spiritual and educational center and a Sunday school.
