The monument is located on Frunze Street (formerly - street Mykolaiv), front of the house, where he spent his childhood and youth actress.

The idea and the original appearance of the monument belong to a local sculptor A. Vinevskoy. But later it was decided to hold a competition among sculptors, in which the winner was recognized sculptor from Rostov D. Begalova. Funds for the monument were allocated manufacturing Taganrog factory "Red boilermaker."
