Pieniny National Park - one of the 23 national parks in Poland, situated in the Malopolska region in the south, on the border with Slovakia in the heart of Penin.

The idea of ​​creating a national park by Professor Vladislav Szaferu, a member of the National Commission for the Conservation of Nature. In May 1932, it was created "Pieniny National Park" on an area of ​​7, 36 square kilometers.

Scientists have found that the park is home to over 6,500 species of animals, including badgers, wild boars, deer, lynx, wild cat, marten, bats, blackbirds, storks and owls. On the banks of the Dunajec River otters live.

For hikers and outdoor enthusiasts in the park developed 35 tourist routes that cover the most important attractions Penin: peaks Sokolitsa and Three Crowns, as well as a medieval castle Chorshtinsky.
