The first written mention of the caves date back to 1822 Lurgrotte year, the oldest known image and does refer to the beginning of the 17th century. However, the official opening date of caves considered to be 1 April 1894, and its discoverer - Italian caver Max Brunello, who managed to reach the so-called "Big Dome". World famous is the miracle of nature with fantastic stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes received in late April 1894, after a group of experienced cavers were trapped as a result of a sharp increase in water level, completely cut off out of the cave.
