Banya Bashi Mosque - is an Islamic shrine located in Sofia. The initiator and sponsor of the building was made by Mullah Effendi Kady Seifullakh, because this mosque is sometimes also called "Kady Seifullakh" or "Molla Efendi" (by the way, before the temple was not far from the grave of the mullahs). In the arch above the door you can see a stone with the inscription illegible number and 974 suggest that this designation date of the construction - the year 974 AH (1566-1567 g). This is one of the oldest mosques in Europe. Her name is translated into Russian as "a lot of baths" - a building built over natural thermal spa. Today Banya Bashi Mosque is the only functioning Muslim temple in Sofia.

The main building - are rectangular, crowned by a large dome structure; in front of the - trёhkupolnaya small outbuilding, built in memory of the late wife Kady Efendi. Above all this stands a high minaret, from which the servant of the church - the muezzin - calls the faithful to prayer.

The mosque is a fine example of Ottoman architecture of the XVI century. Walls built from successive rows of stones and red bricks. The walls of the hall for prayers, arches and columns made of stone, the main dome is covered with tin plates. During its long history the temple has undergone several renovations and a modern interior bought only in the 20s of the XX century, after the restoration work funded by the Turkish ambassador in Sofia Fethi Bey. In the middle of the century, after the war, also performed minor repairs. Over the past decade in the mosque floor heating system installed in the private Turkish and Arab donations.

In its current state of Banya Bashi mosque is able to accept up to 1,200 believers on the holiday of Kurban Bayram, or 700 people for Friday prayers.
