The picturesque Greek island in the Aegean Sea Skapelos - one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece.

The second largest town of Skopelos Glossa is located about 11 km north-west of the capital of the island. The small picturesque town situated in an amphitheater on a hillside at an altitude of 200-250 meters above sea level. Gloss is a traditional Greek town with narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed houses with red tiled roofs, wooden balconies and lots of flowers. The town is surrounded by pine forests, as well as many almond trees and plane trees.

Gloss - a small oasis of authentic Greek paradise, almost untouched by mass tourism. Most of the narrow cobbled streets climbing steeply up the hill, it is absolutely not meant for road transport, and local residents strictly observe siesta. Gloss - an ideal place for lovers of quiet and relax. Here you will find a good choice of comfortable apartments, as well as cozy taverns and cafes with excellent Greek cuisine. There are several supermarkets in the village, and mini-markets.

Port glosses called Loutraki and is located about a 20-30 minute walk from town. Loutraki is the second largest port of the island. There are good hotels and apartments, beautiful beaches and excellent tavernas and cafes. With a magnificent view of the seafront of the island of Skiathos. In Loutraki guidebooks often listed as "Gloss".

Near the harbor is the main attraction GLOSS - the ruins of Roman baths (4th century BC), the remains of the ancient citadel of Selinus and the sanctuary of Athena (presumably 5th century BC). In the vicinity of GLOSS is also to visit the church Agias Ioannis Kastri, starring some of the scenes of the famous film "Mamma mia", and the monastery of the Archangels.
