Belenski most - a monument of Bulgarian architecture, one of the outstanding facilities of the country. The author of the architectural project was Nikola Fichev, who built a bridge between the years 1865 to 1867 on the initiative of Midhat Pasha. The bridge crosses the Yantra River, which flows near the town of Byala Rousse region.

The length of this ancient arched bridge - 276 meters and its width is 9 meters. The arches of the bridge are richly decorated with magnificent reliefs depicting animal heads. For their manufacture used only local materials - limestone and gypsum. The movement of vehicles on the bridge is prohibited, for the purpose near the Belem bridge was built a special cross the river.

Part of the bridge was destroyed by floods in 1897: the central openings were destroyed length of 130 meters each in the amount of 8 pieces. Later this part of the bridge has been restored, but, unfortunately, in complete disharmony with the original design - in 1922-1923 arches were reinforced concrete structures.

On the left bank in front of the Belém bridge you can see a monument to the famous architect, is located on the right bank of white monument to the revolutionaries who attempted to cross the river in 1876, but drowned.
