Park and Wildlife Center Nino Aquino was once part of the Quezon Memorial Park, established in 1954 and occupies 197 hectares. Later the fleet was reduced to 64, 5 hectares. Then another part of the park was given to the Philippine Graduate School of Science and the National Government Center. Today the park Nino Aquino takes only 22, 7 hectares.
For the public park was opened in 1970, and in 1982 its territory carried out restoration work, during which were built craft village, a fishing village, the stadium and lounges. Then installed equipment for water supply and lighting system. In 1986, the park was named in honor of Senator Benigno Aquino, actively fought against the dictatorship and died for their ideas in the same year.
To get to the park can be a few inputs - for example, by a footpath that runs along Quezon Avenue, overlooking the wide asphalt road. In the end it is the administration building of the park and in front of him stands a bust Nino Aquino. To the right are two giant cells, which contain the rare Philippine eagles, parrots and cockatoos. Passing along the winding trail to the right, you can be in front of Aqua House with several aquariums with freshwater fish. Behind him in a large cage lives very rare beast - Bearded Pig from the island of Palawan.
If you go further north, you will certainly find yourself in front of the Office of Protected Areas and Wildlife and the Center for Wildlife Rescue. The Bureau is authorized to engage in collecting rare species of animals taken from illegal traders and owners. Here, these animals feed, and then returned to the wild. Inhabitants of the center are birds and reptiles, large snakes and various mammals.
In the park you can have a picnic, find a playground for children and even a huge artificial lake. On the shore of the lake on the background of lush undergrowth are traditional Filipino houses that can be rented at the time.
