Fort Burgunon is one of the many forts built in Pula, in the second half of the XIX century to protect the fleet and the city from attacks by sea. Fort - a fortress built in the inner ring of fortifications. Builders are hoping that the ring with a radius of 2.5 kilometers will protect the most vulnerable part of Pula.
Initially the fort was named Antoine Baumberga background, the Austrian Admiral, Commander of the Navy. The appearance of the fort was designed by Archduke Maximilian in 1820.
