A small puddle of town is considered one of the oldest settlements in the Pilsen region. For the first time it is mentioned in written documents in 1175.
In 1245, the center of the village decorated with a strong wooden fort, who was a safe haven for all residents of the puddle. When it was destroyed, its foundation built a new stone castle. It happened at the end of the XVI century. And it is from this time begins the story of a two-storey castle puddle.
The building, erected in the Renaissance style, in the XIX century, rebuilt in Baroque style. The greatest changes in the appearance of the castle has made one of its owners - Joseph Glaucus, who was involved in an architect's work and knew what to do to turn a modest chateau in a real palace. First, he destroys the top of the building and builds on its three floors, changing its shape. A small palace tower, too, is to be scrapped. In its place erected hexagonal building, whose facade is decorated with a large dial. The castle interiors are decorated in a neo-Renaissance.
Currently, the castle puddle opened a museum dedicated to its most famous owner - Josef Hlávka. His private quarters consisted of a variety of rooms, the most beautiful of which are the library, lounge and bedroom. The walls are decorated with canvases depicting genre scenes from the life of the nobility of the XIX century and portraits of family members cupola.
An interesting will visit the castle chapel, which was built in 1887. For the decoration of her vault was invited to a personal friend of the artist K. Yobshteyn Hlávka, who lived and worked in Vienna.
