The composition of Ostrava, among others, includes two areas, which are called the Moravian and Silesian Ostrava Ostrava. By coincidence, in those areas are arranged with the same name of the church - the Church of St. Joseph. This is due not fantasy poor inhabitants of these areas, and the fact that the earlier and the Moravian and Silesian Ostrava were independent settlements and, therefore, could call their church as the people want it, and the priests.
The Church of St. Joseph in the Silesian Ostrava made in late baroque style. It was erected on the site of an old wooden church of St. George in 1780-1783 years. The main altar of the church was decorated with a sculpture of the Virgin and Child.
In 1913, the church wanted to close because of the threat of destruction. As a result, coal mines nearby ground beneath the church has fallen by 8 meters. But technical progress has reached such a level that could try to strengthen the construction of the church and thus preserve it. When repairs were used ultra-modern materials: details of reinforced concrete frame of iron, supported by strong ropes. The Church of St. Joseph's was reopened in 1929.
Next to it you can see the bell tower, which is also constructed of iron. For reliability, the entire structure reinforced layer of hollow bricks.
The Church of St. Joseph stands in a small patch of land, the envelope path. He is crowned with a dome and decorated with a green clock. Find a church is very simple: it dominates the beautiful castles and is one of the stops on the Imperial Road.
