City Hall - one of the most notable buildings in Oslo, attracting the attention of all visitors to its simple geometrical shape. As a result of its construction project Arnsteyna Arneberg and Magnus Poulsona, which ended in 1950. on the eve of the 900th anniversary of Oslo, capital of Norway, has put on a par with the majestic architecture Copenhagen and Stockholm. It was the most ambitious project, completely converts the appearance of the city.

The construction of the Town Hall has been spent over 8mln. bricks made by hand. The first stone of the foundation laid by the king Haakon VII.

On one of the towers are huge clock, where every hour hear melody sound created by 49 bells and reminding clumsy child's play on the piano.

From the wall of the building who is the Town Hall Square or the harbor welcomes Sv.Halvard, patron of Oslo. The main entrance is located on the back of the Town Hall, at the Fridtjof Nansen Square, where you will see a fountain and a wooden sculpture of the mythological.

Oslo City Hall is known around the world that it is here, in the ceremonial hall decorated with paintings by Henrik Sørensen, presented annually to the Nobel Peace Prize. Other facilities are also worthy of attention of visitors. They are painted with exquisite frescoes depicting the nature of Norway, historical events and sketches of people's lives.
