Benito Juarez National Park is located in the central part of the state of Oaxaca. This is one of the first protected areas, built in the national park of the country park was named in honor of the former president - Benito Juarez, a native of Oaxaca, Mexico, who was head of the construction of the park in a year - in 1937.

The park is located in a mountainous area at an altitude of 1650-3050 meters above sea level. The biggest mountain here - Sierra de San Felipe, it reaches a maximum height of 3111 meters. In the park live 18 species of amphibians, 39 reptiles, 231 species of birds, some of them are considered to be endemic and 62 species of mammals such as ground squirrel, flying squirrel, puma, ocelot and white-tailed deer. Most protected bird blue jay is considered here. This is a small songbird family Corvidae. It is found only in North America.
