National Park "Cape Hilsborou" - small (total 816 ha) coastal park 40 minutes from McKay, a place where rainforest literally meets the reef. The surrounding water park are part of the Marine National Park "Great Barrier Reef".
In the park you can see about 150 species of birds and 25 species of butterflies. Among the animals of the park - the ubiquitous kangaroo dwarf petauridae, turtles and wallabies. The friendly wallabies every morning at dawn appearing on the beach - a favorite subject for photography.
In Cape Hilsborou once inhabited by natives of the tribe Dzhuypera (Juipera), and today, after going on a special path lengths of 1, 2 km away, you can get acquainted with the way of life and traditions.
The highlight of the park - its indented coastline, formed by volcanic activity in the distant past. Traces of the geological changes can be seen today - in the precipitous cliffs, coastal caves and secluded coves.
