Museum of the History of Lublin (Polish: Muzeum Historii Miasta Lublina) - a branch of the Lublin Museum, housed in a historic building - Cracow Gate, built in 1341.

Museum of the History of Lublin was founded in 1965. The permanent exhibition "The history of the city" tells about the life and development of Lublin from the 6th century until 1944. The collection includes archaeological finds, icons, portraits of important people.

The first floor of the museum is devoted to archaeological finds, discovered during various excavations. The exhibition, located on the second floor, tells the story of the city until the seventeenth century, the twentieth century. Here you can see important documents, to get acquainted with the system of urban water supply, see the preserved elements of urban decor. The third floor of the Museum of Lublin History tells about the life of the city from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century. Among the exhibits: paintings, clocks, the symbolic keys to the city, the spoils of war, as well as the image of the city at the turn of the century.

The next floor is devoted to the life of the city in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Here you can see portraits of prominent citizens of Lublin, posters, photos of the First World War, the items that have appeared during the Second World War prisoners crafts, kites, ads, identity cards, and more.

In the last fifth floor you can see the images of pre-war Lublin and enjoy the modern city through panoramic windows.
