A very beautiful old church of St. Marguerite is located in the shadow of Westminster Abbey, both literally and figuratively. It was built in the XII century by Benedictine monks as a parish church for the inhabitants of the surrounding areas.
From 1486 to 1523 GG the church was rebuilt and became the parish church of the Palace of Westminster. She also rebuilt later in the XVIII and XIX centuries, but mostly kept perpendicular Gothic style.
Of particular interest is the Eastern window - Flemish stained glass work in 1509, made in honor of the betrothal of Catherine of Aragon with Henry VIII.
On the church installed vertical sundial, the dial on the eastern façade shows the time to the astronomical (solar) afternoon, the dial on the western facade - afternoon.
Together with Westminster Abbey and the Church of St. Margarita is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
