Trinity Cathedral of the Kuban Cossack Army - it is one of the attractions of the city of Krasnodar. The decision to build a temple on the Kuban semiprestolnogo earth was made in 1899. But preparation for its construction lasted several years. And all because of the choice of location for the construction, since all the suitable sites have been occupied by other buildings.

The solemn laying of the temple took place 3 October 1899 on a plot owned by an elderly widow of the police officer S. Shcherbina. Construction of the temple was completed in 1910, the author of the project was the architect IK Malgerb. The cathedral was erected in the traditional Russian style. The consecration of the temple took place in June 1910. In 1911-1912. after the consecration of the church was carried out the restoration of the lower church, which suffered during the temporary suspension of construction. The consecration of the lower church was held in November 1912

In 1934 the church was closed. Service in it resumed only in 1942, but after the war it was closed again for decades. All precious iconostasis and icons, church utensils have been taken out of the temple and expropriated by the government. In the postwar years the church was used as a management and warehouse, and in 1972 was opened a sculpture workshop Krasnodar branch of the USSR Art Fund.

In 1979 the building of Trinity Church was given the status of a historical monument. And in 1990 he returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. Status of the temple was disappointing, but thanks to the enthusiasm and efforts of the Russian Orthodox Church believers temple four years much has changed. Following the restoration work has a new roof, bell tower over the dome of the temple again shone golden crosses. Soon Krasnodar Holy Trinity Church received the status of a cathedral.

For Cossacks this temple is of particular importance, since on its territory in 2008 was reburied chronicler of the Cossack movement, academician, writer and poet F.Scherbin.
