Prince's Palace was built in the XVIII century in Kotor. It is a single ensemble facade of the eastern part of the city along with the security tower. In the past, the palace was used as the residence of the Venetian governors, and also served in different military-strategic objectives.

Up to 1667 on the site of the prince's palace there was another medieval building, which was destroyed after an earthquake destroyed under the rubble of his previous governor. One of the main monuments of Kotor palace do not outstanding architectural and stylistic merits, but its historic importance.

However, the architectural proportions of the palace can be called a kind: the length of the foundation of the building is 60 meters, width of the foundation of the building is 6 meters. That means such unusual proportions of the palace has repeatedly suffered as a result of earthquakes. The last and most devastating occurred in Montenegro in 1979, after which the prince's palace was almost completely destroyed. In addition, the earthquake damaged the neighboring buildings of the Middle Ages.

The construction is gradually restored, today the palace was given a modern look thanks to the owners of small shops on the ground floor of the palace.
