Philharmonic Hall and the Museum of musical and theatrical culture in the city of Kislovodsk was founded in 1965 on the initiative of Boris Matveyevich Rosenfeld, who later became director of the museum.
To date, the museum has collected more than ten thousand different items. The museum is divided into four rooms, each with a unique exposition.
The first room is dedicated to famous musicians and composers, ballet, opera and pop music, which at one time gave concerts and the rest in the region. Among the famous names worth mentioning AA Alyabiev, MI Glinka, MA Balakirev, SV Rachmaninoff S. Prokofiev. Here is the famous white piano "Bluthner" who regularly works for over 100 years.
The second hall is dedicated to the famous conductor, pianist and public figure - Vasily Ilyich Safonov. Documents, photos and materials related to the activities Safonov, and more stored in the museum. It is noteworthy that Safonov was the initiator of the Kuursaal (today - Gosfilarmoniya), as well as the opening of the first music school for children in the North Caucasus.
In the third room contains materials in any way connected with the Symphony Orchestra, which was founded more than a century ago, and again without Safonov. The fourth room is devoted to the famous Russian bass - Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin, who repeatedly gave concerts in the Kurhaus.
The best orchestras in Russia and the world come to the concerts. Since 2001 the Philharmonic festivals of classical music already can be called traditional "Saturday Meetings", which carried out the artists of different genres.
