Vvedensky Monastery, among other monasteries of Kiev, is not only a unique monument of architecture, but also the cradle of Russian Orthodoxy.
Many monasteries were built on donations of time lay mainly rich widows, who have decided to leave the worldly life. Vvedensky monastery - is no exception, its founder was Matron A. Egorova, who petitioned Philothei, Metropolitan of Kiev, to set up a women's shelter Vvedensky community for orphans and widows, eager to devote his life to the service of God. The settlers of the monastery were occupied by the military hospital, collected gifts for the front, washed clothes. In 1992 Vvedensky Monastery reborn anew, the community start its work again, led by the abbot of Damian. Again, the temple worship and resumed work began on the restoration. In the few surviving fragments of the original painting has been recreated 19th century, performed new songs instead of lost.
