Parndana - a town in the geographical center of Kangaroo Island, 40km from Kingscote. The name "Parndana" means "a place of small eucalyptus." The town was founded in 1951 to provide commercial and logistical support to local agricultural "boom" that began after the Second World War, when former soldiers back here and double the production of local products. The absence of pests and poisonous plants provides a clear competitive advantage of local production as compared to the mainland.

3 km west of town is a park "Parndana Wildlife", which retains the largest on the island of a private collection of native animals. The park opened in 1992 and occupies 12 hectares, home to hundreds of birds and animals. Kangaroos and wallabies live in open-air cages, they are very friendly and allowed to feed themselves with it. However, the food must be purchased at a local store. In cages next to the kangaroos roam emus. By koalas you can go with a guide. Among the other inhabitants of the park - vipers, swamp wallabies, kangaroo rats, potoru, deer, wombats, crocodiles and pets. The park also cares for injured animals and orphaned kids.
