Fort №5, named in honor of the King of Prussia, Friedrich Wilhelm III (head of state during the war with Napoleon), was part of a system of military facilities Koenigsberg and refers to a ring of forts "Night feather Koenigsberg."
The building has the shape of a hexagon surrounded by a moat, massive stone walls and earthen rampart . In 1979, the ruins of Fort №5 handed Kaliningrad Regional History and Art Museum. In 2001, the fort was opened Museum of fortification and military equipment.
