A little away from the historic center of Jihlava in the street Fahrni can see the Church of St. James, which is considered the main helper and heavenly guard miners. Construction of the temple in the city, known deposits of silver ore, not surprising.

The Church makes a strange impression, as part of its built in different styles .  For example, the main nave is in Gothic tradition and the Romanesque tower .  The interior is reminiscent of the Baroque in general .  This can be explained by the fact that the church was many times subjected to alterations and perfected as they could .  The temple was built at the end of the XIII century, the north tower attached to the XIV, and the south - in the XV .  The towers of the temple was used for different purposes .  In the north, whose height is 63 meters, an observation post was located .  Several people are constantly on duty there, explore the area, not to miss accidental fires or attack the enemy, and raised the alarm using fanfare .  This lasted until 1924 .  The south tower was conceived as a bell tower .  She first made a very high - 20 meters surpassing the northern neighbor .  But when they began to raise the bell, which, according to tradition, had its name - Suzanne, the tower has become a dangerous turn .  The bell weighed about 7 tons and could simply overturn the newly built tower .  Therefore, the architect decided not to risk and ordered to disassemble the tower up to 54 meters .  On the bell tower today can climb from there amazing views of the surrounding area . 

Inside the temple, you can see the stone baptismal font, decorated with exquisite drawings on the theme of the Gospel, and a wonderful sculpture of the Virgin Mary, mourning the Son made in the XIV century.
