Photo: The Jewish Quarter and the lift Asansör
The restored old houses are preserved in the ancient quarter Asansör, also known as the Jewish quarter. Dario Moreno Street leads to the lifts at Asansör. Lift (Turkish Asansör), whose height is 51 meters, was built in the XIX century on the money the rich Jew named Nessim Levy, to connect the lower and upper streets of the quarter. Now there are two elevators - one, like a hundred years ago, a couple of the other - on electricity. The restaurant, located on the terrace of the top floor, offers a magnificent panorama of the city.
