Hume - one of the names "the smallest city in the world." It really is a small town with well-preserved architecture. It is located in the northern part of the Istrian peninsula, near Buzet.

Currently the Houma home to about twenty people in the late 19th century there were about a hundred. Walking through the city you can quickly understand why the city is called the world's smallest. The reason miniature size of all buildings in the city.

As you know its current form the city gained in the XI century, which means that from that time on its territory nothing was built. The city gates, from which you can start a tour of the town, were built in 1562.

Attractions Houma allocate Church of the Assumption of Mary, built in 1802, the city walls and the church of St. Jerome, built in the XII century.

St. Jerome Chapel frescoes, graffiti Byzantine era and Glagolitic inscriptions. The city walls are well preserved, as well as the castle, which was once located in the center of the town square. The main square is the parish church. In academic circles debate, in honor of the saint she was built. There are various options: the Virgin Mary, saints Peter and Paul, St. Jerome and St. James.

I must say that the whole architecture of Houma is atypical for the rest of Istra period of the Venetian Republic. It is particularly distinguished building area and not characteristic of the period balconies.

In the eastern part of the city there is also the home of the artist, the master played the guitar for the visitors. The house is open to all comers. You can enjoy the sound of the guitar, as well as purchase some works of art from local collections.
