In the south-eastern part of Mount Pelion is Fesalii (or Pelion), but rather a ridge forming a small peninsula (between Pagassiyskim Gulf and the Aegean Sea). This area has been inhabited since prehistoric times and is famous for its rich cultural and historical heritage. Pelion occupies an important place in Greek mythology. According to tradition, here lived the centaurs, led by the wise Chiron and unfolded many events that we know of Greek mythology. Here lies the legendary ancient city Yolk - the birthplace of the leader of the Argonauts Jason.

You should definitely visit the picturesque mountain villages scattered on the slopes of Pelion. This authentic Greek settlements with traditional architecture of the region and numerous historical monuments.
