Photo: Schlossberg
From the fortress Schlossberg, formerly vysivsheysya over the city, preserved only small fragments. The fortress was the residence of the emperors of the XV century. Three times the Turks tried to take the fortress, but all attempts were unsuccessful. Thrice Napoleon's troops seized the city, and in 1809 they blew up the castle. In 1839, there was a broken city park.
Near the castle is the Clock Tower, rising just above the city roofs. Hours are very curious: big arrow shows hours and the small installed later minutes. The upper part of the tower is surrounded by a covered wooden gallery.
On the Schlossberg has a beautiful view of the city. It can be reached by foot or use a funicular.
