Evora is famous for its "Aqueduct silver water." This magnificent structure was built by the Romans during the reign of Sertorius. In 1531-1537 by the architect Francisco de Arruda completely reconstructed the aqueduct. It was so impressive edifice that the greatest poet of Portugal, Camões even described it in his "Lusiads."
