Beautiful, like a toy, Lakshmi Narayan temple is situated in the Indian capital, Delhi. The temple dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi health, as well as her husband Narayana. The idea of ​​creating the church belonged to the famous Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist, father and son, Baldeo Birla and white durra Kishore Birla, so this building is still known as Birla Mandir or Birla Temple. Construction began in 1933 and the grand opening took place in 1939 with the participation of the great spiritual leader of the country of Mahatma Gandhi, who called the creators of the church opened its doors completely for all people, regardless of their social status and caste.

The entire temple complex with a large garden, decorated with a small fountain, occupies an area of ​​over three hectares.

The building of the Temple Lakshmi Narayan performed the so-called Northern style or style Nagara, typical of Hindu religious buildings in the northern part of India. Almost the entire outer surface of the walls of the temple is covered with carvings of scenes from Indian mythology, which had been worked over hundreds of the most skilled painters and sculptors of the city of Varanasi. They also created statues for the temple deities.

The building has three floors and "looks" to the east. Its main tower rising above the street for more than 48 meters. The walls of the hall, which houses the main shrine of the temple - the statue of Lakshmi and Narayana, decorated with rich frescoes and fine paintings. They depict gods, after whom the temple was built, the scene of their "life." In addition, Lakshmi and her husband, the temple has a statue of Shiva, Ganesha, Hanuman, and, of course, the Buddha.
