Cathedral of St. Anna - Catholic cathedral of Debrecen, the Order of Piarists erected in 1715 as a symbol of the return of Catholicism in the city. This is the main cathedral of the Diocese of Debrecen - Nyiregyhaza. This is one of the youngest dioceses of Hungary was established May 31, 1993. Its territory was formed from the former territories of the archdiocese of Eger and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Szeged-Csanád. The diocese is located in the east of the country, where historically the majority of the population were Protestants, which explains the fact that the percentage of Catholics in the diocese Debrecen-Nyiregyhaza lowest in Hungary - less than a quarter of the total population.

In contrast to the strict Calvinist interior of the cathedral, in the church of St.. Anna can see the luxurious interior of Rococo. Many of the images of saints in the sanctuary by the famous Hungarian artists of the XVIII century.
