The Museum of Julio Romero de Torres in Cordoba is located in a former hospital for the poor, which is also located, and the Museum of Fine Arts of Cordoba. The museum dedicated to the life and work of the famous Cordoba painter Julio Romero de Torres. Julio Romero de Torres, son of the artist Rafael Romero Barros, founder at the time in Córdoba Provincial Museum of Fine Arts, was born in Cordoba and spent much of his life. He studied and lived in Madrid, has traveled extensively in Europe and South America, but always returned to his native Cordoba, which felt an irresistible connection. It was the hometown of the plot for many paintings by the artist.

In the work of the painter traced several artistic styles. It is popular in the period realism, impressionism, love, to which was grafted to the artist paintings of his father, as well as symbolism.

After the artist's death May 10, 1930, his widow and children decided to create a museum dedicated to his memory. The grand opening of the museum took place on November 23, 1931. Within a few years the museum moved to a specially purchased for him a house. The museum has preserved the furniture and personal belongings of the artist as well as his library. Among the works of the artist, exhibited here, a lot of portraits, paintings devoted to his beloved Cordoba, as well as paintings on biblical themes. I especially want to mention such works as "Poem for Cordoba", "Oranges and lemons," "Our Lady of Andalusia", "Sin", "Look at how beautiful it was! ".
