Church of San Pedro - it is one of the oldest churches in Cordoba, located not far from the cathedral in the eponymous square. Built in the 13th century after the liberation of Cordoba Moorish domination by King Ferdinand III, the church of San Pedro on the list of the oldest churches in the city. Earlier, on the site of its construction it was the temple built in the 4th century, in which the relics of the martyrs of Cordoba.

The church was built mainly in Gothic style, but in the 17-18 centuries, it has undergone numerous changes that make its appearance there features and other architectural styles typical of that era. The main facade is decorated with a portal with a lot of decorative elements, designed by the architect Hernan Ruiz the youngest. The architect designed the entrance in two triumphal arches, one above the other. In the center of the lower arch are the gate to the building, in the center of the top - a statue of the apostle Peter. On either side of the main gate of the architect to establish a colony in the Ionic style.

Inside the church of San Pedro is divided into three naves, the ceiling is made according to the type of Gothic arches. In the church there are two retablo of great beauty, one of which was created by Alonso Gomez de Sandoval in 1742 and placed in the chapel of the Holy Martyrs, and the second, the main retablo of this church, recognized as one of the most beautiful in Cordoba, is the creation of Felix de Morales.

In 1986, the church of San Pedro were started restoration work, and in 1996 opened its doors again for the residents and visitors of Cordoba.
