The University of Coimbra was founded in 1290 and is considered one of the oldest universities in the world in which the educational process has never stopped, from the very first day of its foundation. Just University is the oldest university in Portugal and one of the biggest universities and major research institutions in the country. The University has eight departments that produce bachelors and masters in the arts, humanities, social and natural sciences, mathematics, sports sciences and engineering. There is a chapel of St. Miguel, built in the Manueline style. Striking is the fact that the chapel was built over several centuries. Inside the chapel is the body of the XVIII century, its walls are decorated with tiles-azulezush.
