City Novocheboksarsk, founded in 1960 by combining the thirteen villages in the territory, is located five kilometers from the capital of Chuvashia. The main attraction of the city is an architectural complex of St. Vladimir, located on Cathedral Square.
The complex includes: a five-meter bronze statue of Prince Vladimir on a granite pedestal in front of the main gate, a stone cathedral church, icon shop, hotel, chapel over the spring and fountain in the center of the square. The first area was the construction of a temple by architect AB Oreshnikova, built in 1989 in the former village Elnikova and consecrated in honor of St. Vladimir.
