City Novocheboksarsk, founded in 1960 by combining the thirteen villages in the territory, is located five kilometers from the capital of Chuvashia. The main attraction of the city is an architectural complex of St. Vladimir, located on Cathedral Square.

The complex includes: a five-meter bronze statue of Prince Vladimir on a granite pedestal in front of the main gate, a stone cathedral church, icon shop, hotel, chapel over the spring and fountain in the center of the square. All areas of the structure in the same style of red brick in a white frame.

The first area was the construction of a temple by architect AB Oreshnikova, built in 1989 in the former village Elnikova and consecrated in honor of St. Vladimir. In June 1996, the temple to the throne of St. Vladimir and two chapels in honor of St. Nicholas and the Mother of God "Quick to Hearken" received the status of a cathedral. In the 1990s, in the temple were constructed: icon shop, a chapel and a hotel.

In 2000, the main gate were erected Cathedral Square, and in 2003, before the colonnade with arches was a monument to Prince Vladimir with a plaque. Author of the monumental figures with a huge cross-staff in his left hand is the architect and sculptor I.Nemtsov Vinogradov.

Also in 2003, in the center of the square was inaugurated fountain "Memory" architect N.Rozhkova, established in honor of the thirteen villages have joined the modern Novocheboxarsk. On the sides of the fountain name stamped villages.
