Photo: Mosque of Amr ibn al-Aas
Mosque of Amr ibn al-Aas was founded in the year 640 and is the oldest Islamic monuments in Cairo. The mosque was repeatedly rebuilt and expanded. In 1800 it was built minarets.
The middle of the mosque - an open quadrangle, bordered on all sides by the arcades along the walls, and the side adjacent to the prayer niche (mihrab), wider than the others. Almost all of the columns vary in height, thickness and age.
In the far left corner of the mosque is the tomb of his son Amr Abdallah.
