Myndos Gate, part of the city fortifications, served as the western entrance to the city. The name they received in honor of Myndos - the ancient city, in the direction they are facing.
In ancient times, the gate had three towers in front of them held a protective moat 15 meters wide and 8 meters deep. They were attacked by Alexander the Great, when he decided to capture the city. Defenders of the city fiercely resisted, but to no avail: the city was taken and razed to the ground on the orders of Alexander the Great. The mausoleum was spared only.
From the gates of the ruins of the side portions. Next to them are found Greek and Roman burial. Currently, there are carried out restoration work.
