The north coast of the Gulf of Gokova extends for a distance of about 44 miles from the resort of Bodrum in the west to the village of Gokova to the east. It is in this picturesque bay and is located is famous for its hot springs Black Island or as it is called "Kara Ada." This long and high island removed from Bodrum for a distance of two miles and stretches to the southeast along the coast. Behind the Black Island, a distance of 45 minutes from Bodrum, is another Bay. In the bay the wind blows constantly, which is very refreshing hot summer. There is an excellent place for diving both for experienced as well as for novice divers. Rock formations begin at a depth of five meters and down to twenty meters. Starfish, moray, orfos, octopus and many other beautiful small fishes sure will meet on your way. You can even find fragments of ancient amphorae.
